About Department

“Mathematics is not just about numbers; it is about thinking, discovering and solving.”

The Department of Mathematics, RNC Arts, JDB Commerce & NSC Science College, Nashik Road, Nashik, is committed to developing mathematical thinking, logical reasoning and problem-solving skills among students. The college has a rich educational legacy, having been established in 1963, and the Department of Mathematics has been an important part of this journey of academic growth and excellence.

Over the years, the department has worked continuously to make Mathematics simple, meaningful and interesting for students. Our teachers encourage students to look beyond formulas and understand the ideas, logic and applications behind Mathematics.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

The department regularly organizes workshops, seminars, problem-solving sessions, guest lectures and other academic activities to create interest in Mathematics. These activities provide students with opportunities to learn through interaction, observation and practical applications.

“The essence of Mathematics lies not in memorizing formulas, but in understanding the beauty of ideas.”

Special efforts are made to support students with different learning abilities and backgrounds. Through individual guidance, classroom interaction and academic support, the department strives to help every student build confidence in Mathematics.

Building a Research Mindset

The department believes that students should be encouraged not only to learn Mathematics but also to question, explore and discover. Students are motivated to participate in symposia, workshops, project work, mathematical competitions and research-oriented activities at local, state and national levels.

Such exposure helps students develop curiosity and introduces them to the wider world of Mathematics, research and innovation.

“Every problem is an opportunity to discover a new way of thinking.”

Mathematics for Career and Employability

In today’s rapidly changing world, mathematical skills are valuable in almost every field. The department therefore focuses on developing logical reasoning, analytical ability, computational thinking, data interpretation and problem-solving skills.

Skill-oriented activities are conducted to help students prepare for higher education, competitive examinations, research, teaching and employment opportunities.

Our Strength – Our Teachers

The department is supported by a team of dedicated, experienced and student-oriented teachers who believe in creating a positive learning environment. Teachers constantly encourage students to ask questions, explore new ideas and develop confidence in their mathematical abilities.

“A good teacher gives knowledge; a great teacher inspires the desire to learn.”
