NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME (NSS)

To mark the Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, National Service Scheme was introduced on 24th September 1969. The main objectives of the National Service Scheme – to build a self dependent youth, to foster value education and to develop the social fidelity.

The students registered for NSS are termed as volunteers. The sanctioned capacity of the college is two hundred volunteers. Out of which, hundred volunteers participate in the special camp in a remote village. These volunteers participate in NSS for two academic years. To acclimatize the new incumbents the College, NSS unit conducts its inauguration programme each year in the month of July.

REGULAR ATIVITIES

Every year the NSS unit celebrates the following days-

  1. Independence Day- 15th August
  2. Teachers Day- 5th September.
  3. NSS foundation day-24th September
  4. Gandhi Jayanti- 2nd October.
  5. Traffic Week- 14th October to 30th October
  6. National Integration Day- 31st October
  7. World Aids Day- 1st December
  8. National Youth Day – 12th January
  9. National Youth Week – 12th January to 19th January
  10. Republic Day- 26th January
  11. Women’s Day- 8th March

Maintaining its standard of contributing to the society , the volunteers have taken up the following activities-

  1. On 2nd August 2017 to 5th August 2017- the entire college and the area adjacent to it was cleaned.
  2. 6th August 2017 adopted village cleaning work.
  3. 11th August 2017 Dasak Ghat at the bank of river Godavari was intensively cleaned.
  4. 14th August 2017 public places in front of Bytco College – Bus stop, Bytco Police Chowki, Shyamrao Vitthal Bank and Nashik Pune highway were cleaned.
  5. 26th August 2017 and 30th August 2017- imparted awareness about eco friendly Ganesh festival to the students of Bytco school, Jairambhai High school, Kothari Institute and Sir Dr. M. S. Gosavi college of polytechnic.
  6. 5th September 2017: the volunteers of NSS department collected 568 Ganesh Idols made by Plaster of Paris floating over the water of Godavai River to prevent the water from further contamination. The volunteers also collected the offerings immersed with these idols.
  7. 22nd September 2017: as per the directions of the collector the area near bytco college- nashik pune highway, gurudwara, taran talav road, fernandis wadi, bhavi joshi marg, K. J. Mehta school road, jairambhai school road were cleaned.
  8. 25th February 2018 the banks of the river Nasardi-Tidke Colony Area were cleaned by the volunteers.

BLOOD DONATION CAMP:

Every year the College’s NSS Department organizes a Blood Donation Camp to celebrate the Birthday of Sir Dr. M. S. Gosavi.

Contribution of the volunteers to the remote village during special camp: 2011-12

  • In the camp, various activities were conducted such as survey in the village, tree plantation, clean India Drive (entire village was cleaned).
  • Rallies were arranged to address the issues like women empowerment , importance of cleanliness , Right to Education and disaster management
  • Pledge was given to all volunteers for not consuming any drug and tobacco as well as to stop “stribrhun hatya”

  • In the camp, various activities were conducted such as street play on the topic of girl child abortion, superstation, and dowry.

2016-17

  • Special lectures were conducted on each day of the camp on topic GPS mapping, Digital India, global warming etc.
  • Rallies were arranged to address the issues like women empowerment, importance of cleanliness, Right to Education act, disaster management etc.
  • Street play on the topic of superstation and dowry.

2017-18

  • Special lectures were conducted on each day of the camp on topic Digital India, Mind Control, positive thinking, disaster management, Personality Development etc.
  • Rallies were arranged to address the issues like women empowerment, importance of cleanliness, Save Girl Child, Water Conservation etc.
  • In the camp, various activities were conducted such as street play on the topic of female feticide, superstation, Digital India etc.

STUDENTS PARTICIPATION:

  • 5th June 2016 to 14th June 2016: Madhuri Mahale participated in the State Level- AVHAN Camp- Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune.
  • 18th Aug. 2017: four volunteers participated in the District level- Republic Day Camp Screening test camp at Niphad College.
  • 18th Aug. 2017: Trupti Kalamkar participated in the University level- Republic Day Camp Screening test camp at Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune.
  • 07th Feb. 2018: Amit Pawar and Vishal Zade participated in Uttkarsh 2017 at Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune.
  • 14th and 15th Feb. 2018: Shubham Sahane participated in the University Level- Historical Place Cleaning Programme- Harishchandra Garh organized by the Rajur College.
  • 25th Feb. to 3rd March 2018: Shubham Sahane participated in the University Level- Garh Samvardhan- organized by the Narayangaon College.
  • 25 May 2018 to 3rd June 2018: Shubham Sahane participated in the State Level- AVHAN Camp- Chancellor’s Brigade training camp on disaster management- Aurangabad University.

 

AWARDS AND ACHIEVEMENTS

  • 2013-14: Rohan Jadhav was awarded the Best Volunteer Award by the Government of Maharashtra.
  • 2014-15: Priyanka Sanap participated in NSS Republic Day Parade Camp at New Delhi.
  • 2015-16 Madhuri Mahale participated in NSS Republic Day Parade Camp at New Delhi.
  • 2015-16: Priyanka Sanap was the “Best Volunteer of Nashik District” Award by Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune.
  • 4th May to 13th May 2016: Madhuri Mahale was a part of Indian Youth Delegation to South Korea Under youth Exchange Programme.
  • 2017-18: Madhuri Mahale was the “Best Volunteer of Nashik District” Award by Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune.
