NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME (NSS)

National Service Scheme

To mark the Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, National Service Scheme was introduced on 24th September 1969. The main objectives of the National Service Scheme – to build a self dependent youth, to foster value education and to develop the social fidelity.

The students registered for NSS are termed as volunteers. The sanctioned capacity of the college is two hundred volunteers. Out of which, hundred volunteers participate in the special camp in a remote village. These volunteers participate in NSS for two academic years. To acclimatize the new incumbents the College, NSS unit conducts its inauguration programme each year in the month of July.

REGULAR ACTIVITIES

Every year the NSS unit celebrates the following days-

  1. International Yoga Day- 21st June
  2. Independence Day- 15th August
  3. Teachers Day- 5th September.
  4. NSS foundation day-24th September
  5. Gandhi Jayanti- 2nd October.
  6. Traffic Week- 14th October to 30th October
  7. National Integration Day- 31st October
  8. World Aids Day- 1st December
  9. National Youth Day – 12th January
  10. National Youth Week – 12th January to 19th January
  11. Republic Day- 26th January
  12. Women’s Day- 8th March

Maintaining its standard of contributing to the society , the volunteers have taken up the following activities-

  1. International Yoga Day was organized by NSS Unit on 21st June 2023 at 10.30 am in Zymkhana Hall with guidance of Yoga Teacher Dr. Nivedita Khot, Director of Nisarg Upachar Kendra, Nashik,

  2. Tree Plantation programme was held in College on 5th June 2023 with Guidance of Principal Dr. Manjusha Kulkarni.

  1. Special Guidance Programme Organized by National Service Scheme Unit with the District Sports Officer Office, Nasik, Youth Welfare Department, Government of Maharashtra and Sahityaratna Annabhau Sathe Multipurpose Service Committee, Nasik on the topic “Career Paths” by Mr. Anant Nikam was successfully organized on Saturday, August 2, 2023.

  2. On Saturday, August 12, 2023, a joint online Health Awareness Programme was organized by the NSS Unit and Bytco Hospital, Nashik.

  3. “Meri Mati Mera Desh” campaign and included “Panchpran Oath” and “Mahayuvak Samvad HIV/AIDS Awareness Campaign” organized On Saturday, August 12, 2023

  4. The Campus cleaning Campaign was organized by the NSS Unit on 14th August 2024. In order to keep the campus clean, 100 volunteers were actively involved in the activity.

  5. 20 NSS volunteers were actively participated in Swantrya Jyot Rally organized by the NSS, Nashik and Yashwantrao Chavan Centre, Nashik on the evening of 14th August 2024.

  6. On the occasion of 77th Independence Day, 130 Nss volunteers were Present at Independance Day Flag Hosting Ceremony on 15th August, 2023.

  7. The special lecture on “Today’s Youth and Entrepreneurship” of Mr. Amol Gaikwad, a well-known entrepreneur and motivational speaker and Vijay Sonawane, was successfully organized on Wednesday, August 21, 2023.

  8. NSS volunteers Participated in Selfie with Mati campaign (550 Selfies) during 3rd October to 8th October, 2023.

  9. The blood donation camp was organized by the NSS Unit of the college in collaboration with Bytco Hospital, Nashik, on 5th October 2023. In this Camp 43 units of Blood was collected.

  10. The Campus cleaning Campaign was organized by the NSS on 25th January 2024 in rememberance of Late. Sir. Dr. M.S.Gosavi.

  11. 10 NSS volunteers participated in the Ganesh Murti Sankalan campaign organized by Nashik Municipal Corporation on Anant Chaturdashi on 28th September, 2023.

  12. The Campus cleaning Mission was organized by the NSS department on 1st October 2023.

  13. The Department of National Service Scheme (NSS organized a program to celebrate the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri on Monday, October 2, 2023.

  14. Samvidhan Shapath programme was held in College on 30th November. On the Occasion, Principal Dr. Manjusha Kulkarni Madam has given guidance on Indian Constitution.

  15. NSS volunteer Mr. Pratik Chavan have participated in the State Level Avhan Camp held at Gondwana University, Gadchiroli from 25/12/2023 to 03/01/2024

  16. On 28th December, 2023, 25 NSS volunteers have participated in the Value Education Workshop organized by NBT Law College, Nashik.

  17. From 12/01/2024 to 16/01/2024 NSS Volunteers Mr. Ganesh Kasbe and Miss. Prerna Lhane were actively participated in various activities organized in National Youth festival 2024 in Nashik.

  18. The Campus cleaning Campaign was organized by the NSS Unit on 25th January 2024.

  19. On the occasion of Republic Day, 130 Nss volunteers were Present at Flag Hosting Ceremony on 26th January, 2024.

  20. Special Camp was organized by NSS Unit in the adopted village Hinganvedhe, tal. & Dist. Nashik from 8th to 14th february 2024 with 100 NSS volunteers under the theme of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and conducted under a theme of ‘युवकांचा ध्यास : ग्राम–शहर विकास’.

Contribution of the volunteers to the remote village during special camp: 2018-19

  • In the camp, various activities were conducted such as survey in the village, tree plantation, clean India Drive (entire village was cleaned).
  • Rallies were arranged to address the issues like women empowerment, importance of cleanliness, Right to Education and disaster management
  • Pledge was given to all volunteers for not consuming any drug and tobacco as well as to stop “stribrhun hatya”
  • Voter registration Campaign organized by NSS Unit

2019-20

  • In the camp, various activities were conducted such as survey in the village.

  • Rallies were arranged to address the issues like women empowerment, importance of cleanliness, Right to Education act, disaster management.

  • Special lectures were conducted on each day of the camp for the students to get aware them with recent issue and self-development.

2021-22

  • Covid Vaccination Camp organized in College.

  • Special lectures were conducted on each day of the camp for students to get aware them with recent issue and for their self-development.

  • Pledge was given to all volunteers to keep cleanliness as well as to stop “stribrhun hatya”

  • In the camp, various activities were conducted such as survey in the village

2022-23

  • Special lectures were conducted on each day of the camp on the topics GPS mapping, Indian Economy, global warming, importance of non- conventional energy.

  • Rallies were arranged to address the issues like women empowerment, importance of cleanliness, Right to Education act, disaster management etc.

  • In the camp, various activities were conducted such as street play on the topic of girl child abortion, superstation, and dowry.

2023-24

  • Special lectures were conducted on each day of the camp on topic Population Control, Importance of NSS, superstation in India, Natural Farming, Swami Vivekanand, Vision of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, global warming etc.

  • Rallies were arranged to address the issues like women empowerment, Plastic Free Village, importance of cleanliness, Right to Education act, disaster management etc.

  • Street play on the topic of Drugs, superstation and dowry.

STUDENTS PARTICIPATION:

  • 25 May 2018 to 3rd June 2018 : Shubham Sahane participated in the State Level- AVHAN Camp- Chancellor’s Brigade training camp on disaster management- Aurangabad University.

  • NSS volunteer Mr. Sahil Jadhav have participated in the Gender Equality Campaign One Day Trainning Programme held at SNJB Arts, Science and Commerce College, Chandwad, Dist-Nashik on 26th February, 2022.

  • NSS volunteer Mr. Sahil Swapnil Jadhav have participated in the 7 days University Level ‘Nisarga Samvardhan Camp’ held at Dr. D. Y. Patil Arts, Science and Commerce College, Akurdi, Pune from 27th February, 2022 to 5th March, 2022.

  • From 22nd May, 2022 to 28th May, 2022 NSS volunteer Mr. Sahil Swapnil Jadhav participated in the ‘7 days National Integration Camp’ sponsored by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt. of India organized by NSS Regional Directorate, Pune and University of Mumbai.

  • NSS volunteer Mr. Sahil Swapnil Jadhav participated in the University Level ‘Swachchha Vari- Swastha Vari-Nirmal Vari-Harit Vari- Lokshahi Vari Camp’ organized by Youth Affairs and Sports Ministry, Govt. of India and Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune held Sant Dnyaneshwar Palkhi Marg from 22nd June, 2022 to 10th July, 2022.

  • From 12th August, 2022 to 15th August, 2022 NSS volunteer Mr. Yash Rupawate and Mr. Sahil Swapnil Jadhav participated in the 31st Youth Camp under ‘AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV YOUTH CAMP’ held at Ahmednagar, India.

  • NSS volunteer Miss. Alisha Maniyar and Miss. Sakshi Mandawade have participated in the NRD/SRD District Level Selection Camp at MVP’s K.S.K.W. Arts, Science and Commerce College, Cidco, Nashik on 15th September, 2023.

  • NSS volunteer Mr. Pratik Chavan have participated in the State Level Avhan Camp held at Gondwana University, Gadchiroli from 25/12/2023 to 03/01/2024.

  • From 12/01/2024 to 16/01/2024 NSS Volunteers Mr. Ganesh Kasbe and Miss. Prerna Lhane were actively participated in various activities organized in National Youth festival 2024 in Nashik.

  • From 21/01/2024 to 22/01/2024 NSS Volunteers Mr. Dinesh Shardul and Miss. Vaishnavi Chothave were actively participated in Value based Workkshop held at Belawade, Tal. Mulshi, Pune.

  • NSS Volunteers Mr. Amit Gaidhani and Mr. Pratik Chavan were actively participated in Vari Camp from 30/06/2024 to 17/07/2024.
